Netgear Nighthawk app is designed by Netgear to manage all Netgear devices. You can setup, login, install and access settings of the networking devices over the app. Go through below sections to learn how to download nighthawk router app and manage corresponding devices.

How to Login to Netgear Nighthawk App?

You can login once you download Nighthawk router app. Follow below steps for a quick login:

1. Connect mobile with router’s WiFi network. Take note of default SSID given on the label behind the router.
2. Open app, it will ask for login credentials, here fill the default credentials.
3. Once you complete the login, the app will search the router to pair. It automatically detects your router and shows the message ‘Router is Now Active’.
4. After that answer security questions and click on the Next button. It updates available Firmware automatically.
5. Now your Netgear Nighthawk app is completely set up. If you want to manage other settings, then click on the router’s image and do that.

Control Settings Using Netgear Nighthawk App

Change Admin Login Credentials

• To change admin login credentials, log in to the app by default login credentials.
• Then, navigate to Advanced Settings > Security > Wireless settings and Change the log-in detail. At last click on “Apply Changes”.

Update Firmware

• Access app interface, go to “Advanced Settings”, and select the Upgrading Firmware option.
• Also, you can check for recent available firmware, if available then click on update, app will automatically update it.

Set Parental Control

• Go to Account Settings in the Netgear Nighthawk app, Select the Security Option, and click on the toggle next to Child Safe.
• Manage other settings according to you, and set the timer with a web safe.

Guest Network Setup

• Log in to the Netgear Nighthawk app and Navigate to the Wireless > Basic Settings > Guest > Turn on the Guest Network.
• Select the name and password of the guest network. Set the number of guest connections and click on Apply changes.

Wi-Fi Channel Configuration

• Login to the Nighthawk router App and then go to Advanced Settings > Wireless, select the channel that you want to set for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
• Always select the channel with the least traffic to optimize your WiFi connection.

Troubleshooting Tips

Check Physical Connection

• Ensure that all the power and network cables are in good condition, and connected to their respective ports.
• If there is any damage or faulty cable, then replace it.
• Ensure that your router is properly connected to the modem, and the mobile device is connected to the router.

Use Updated App

• If you are using an old version of the Nighthawk router app, then you can face issues while using app.
• Always use the updated version of the Nighthawk router app.

Check Internet Connection

• Ensure that your internet connection is stable, and router is connected to the modem properly.
• Disconnect your mobile from the router, and connect it again after a few minutes.

Use Correct Login Details

• Sometimes users enter incorrect login credentials, due to which they cannot login into the app.
• Use the correct username and password or default login details, that are mentioned on the router’s label under the routerlogin URL.

Reset

• To reset the router, hit the reset button on the router and hold it for 10-15 seconds. And wait till the light turns solid.
• To reset the device, go to the mobile’s settings and reset your device.
